TRANSCORPOREAL FEMINISM

Linking sculpture and archaeology with architectural science and environmental politics, this project investigates Pre-Pottery Neolithic clay practices in construction, mold-making, and ritual.

Using laser scans of clay figurines, this work aims to create a space for ritual and birth. It is facilitated through a multitude of collaborations, including conversations with the Metropolitan Museum’s collection of ancient Near Eastern art, and the Art Ichol Ceramics Residency in India.

Presented at an installation titled Common Ground, or, Reflections on Transcorporeal Feminism, this project is featured at the 2024 Indian Ceramics Triennale in New Delhi. During the opening event in January 2024, a large scale ceramics installation with the 3D printed earth figurines will be presented and serve as the background for a performance art piece, inviting participants to create their own earthen bricks and artifacts.
