HANGED ARTIFICIAL LANDSCAPES
Hanged Artificial Landscapes is a site-specific installation presented as part of the exhibition “Earth Tree Water: Aspects in the Work of Architect Itzhak Danziger” presented in 2010 at PeKA Gallery, Technion Faculty of Architecture and City Planning.
The technology developed for Hanged Artificial Landscapes included a manually-crafted bio-based growth platform of 30x30 ft. Perlite substance was used within geotechnical fabric layers that were “sewed” together by the natural construction of the strong growing seeds. As a dynamic living feature of growth and decay, this installation sprouted, grew, and wilted throughout the two-month indoor space exhibition.
